Throughout the audiobook, and with this reader in particular, Tayor (and a few of the others) seem to have slightly different personalities than what I imagined for them. It’s hard to describe precisely how they’re different, but it’s still amazing how it can make a big difference reading the same words in a slightly different way…
P.S. making the mayor sound like Richard Nixon was hilarious!
I think a large part of that is due to how we record multiple Arcs simultaneously, so when a character appears that was introduced 1-2 Arcs prior we don’t have that reference. For example: I started recording Arc 30 almost a month ago, which was around the same time as or before Arc 28 and 29 were recorded. This is by far the most efficient means and the only realistic way for us to maintain this 3 chapter/week release schedule, but one of the drawbacks is that you get situations like this.
