I have to say I really like the voice work. No problem guessing who’s who either. The docs voice was cool. Almost sad that it went to such a minor character.

Only one suggestion. Some people skip the “Lisa said”/”Brian’s voice” type of lines in audio books and such as the voices can do a better job on their own. But staying true to the story word for word is also a legitimate choice.

I’m glad you liked the doc’s voice! It took me a while to work something out that I liked for him, so I’ll probably try and use variations of it for some other characters.

I listen to a lot of audiobooks on my commute and while traveling. I’ve found that the majority don’t seem to skip the “X said” – for better or for worse. I’ve heard some instances that wen’t from awkward to just painful. The blame for that seems to be either the reader not being dynamic enough about it or the author getting lazy. I always try to use Roy Dotrice – who read the Song of Ice and Fire books and has a Guinness world record for most number of distinguishable voices – as my guide on what to do. Also, if you haven’t already read them I HIGHLY recommend the audiobooks. Roy Dotrice is nothing short of godly in his talent.
